Golf Tournament has Record Setting Year
The 6th Annual Bricks & Sticks turned out to be a 'Who's Who' of the Building Industry. With more than 240 golfers and volunteers participating in the event, each facet of our industry was represented. Click Here to view our photo gallery! Builders, Engineers, Suppliers, Attorneys, Bankers and others came together to support two great organizations, the Builders Association of Central PA and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County, and affordable housing in our region. The Kissinger, Bigatel & Brower foursome claimed 1st place gross score on the blue course and Cleveland Brothers claimed 1st place gross on the white course. See right column for a list of winners. For the 2nd year in a row, the Golf Committee held the event at the Penn State Golf Courses. This venue seems to be ideal for the outing because it offers two courses for our large number of golfers, a prime location for the Kick-off Reception, and the Awards Banquet. A large part of the tournament's success can be attributed to the unwavering support of Title Sponsor Fulton Bank. They have supported the event for four years in a row and have served as the event's Title Sponsor for the past two! Many others contributed to the tournament's success. A special thanks to Fulton Bank for their Title Sponsorship and L and L Company for their Diamond Sponsorship. Without the support of all of the sponsors and golfers we could not be so successful. It was nice to see that in today’s economy companies and individuals are willing to support two worthwhile organizations." The expansion of the Kick-off Reception was a highlight for many participants. Hoag's Catering donated the food and service for the event and Otto's Pub and Brewery provided two delicious beer selections for the guests. With entertainment from Screwdriver Sally, great food and beverages, and an exciting putt-off on the practice green, guests found the event a great way to get ready for the tournament day! The committee is still tallying the final receipts and a total amount raised will be announced in October. Proceeds raised from the event will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County and the Builders Association of Central PA. Title Sponsor: Fulton Bank |
