BES is seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Commissioning Engineer in our State College, PA office to assist in our success and growth in hospital and university buildings.     The Commissioning Engineer will join a dynamic group who focus primarily in the healthcare market.     Responsibilities

    • Collect, analyze and report field data to support commissioning and retro-commissioning projects
    • Analyze and interpret large amounts of data related to building system operations including Building Automation System trends
    • Provide support to commissioning, retro-commissioning, energy master plan and design projects
    • Develop facility improvement measures (FlMs) from information collected/observed
    • Interact with owners, architects, engineers and contractors on site visits/meetings as project locations allow

    Key Requirements

    • Degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, energy engineering, or related field
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD and building energy modeling software preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Base-level knowledge of energy balances, building energy use, HVAC load calculations, and how to read building plans
    • Understanding of building HVAC systems and their energy impact
    • Familiarity with codes and standards such as the International Code Council, ASHRAE and NFPA
    • Basic understanding of building construction and electrical, plumbing and structural subsystems
    • Strong desire to be part of a team that is making a difference
    • Willingness to work on-site several days a month (travel within the mid-Atlantic region)
